The Stratified Accord

A Community-Governed Language Service

The Stratified Accord is a community-governed language service designed to support the preservation, stewardship and educational use of Indigenous and community languages.

Unlike automated translation systems, the Accord does not seek to replace language custodians or cultural authority. Instead, it provides communities with secure digital infrastructure to store, manage, govern and share approved language resources according to their own protocols, permissions and decision-making processes.
Communities retain ownership and control of their language content, including words, phrases, audio recordings, pronunciation guides, educational resources and cultural classifications. Stratified Learning provides the technology platform that enables approved language resources to be used across the broader Stratified ecosystem.
Through integration with Curriculum Planner, Learning Studio and other Stratified applications, communities can make approved language content available within educational programs, learning resources, family communication tools and vocational training environments while maintaining governance over who may access, contribute to and approve content.
The Accord supports community-defined access controls, approval workflows, version tracking, audio recording, language repositories and educational integration, allowing language knowledge to be managed in ways that respect local cultural protocols and authority structures.

Not a translation service

The Stratified Accord is not a translation service. It is a community-controlled language infrastructure platform that enables communities to preserve, govern and apply their language knowledge within contemporary educational environments while retaining authority over what is shared, how it is used and who may access it.
